Семинар
08.01.2016, 07:42

On the 5th of January just right at the beginning of a new year there was a workshop for English teachers conducted at Shashubay school of Karaganda province.
The workshop was based on the materials of the British Council site and the aim of which was to introduce the teachers’ guide on Digital resources to the educators from regions who do not live in big towns and do not have that wide access to the innovations that are so easy to gain in cities but are so difficult to implement in rural schools. Unfortunately.Being a BC trainer this is not my first experience of meeting village teachers but again and again I face the reality that can be far away from our ideas of what a rural school is, or if to be more exact, what it should be to be a successful one, and what it really is.
According to the National Educational program 2010-2020, by the year of 2020 about 90% of teachers will be able to use and successfully apply the digital resources at their lessons. So, this is the factor that makes me believe that we are on the right way and all our work as trainers and teachers will bring the difference to the educational reality. So, resuming my story about our workshop, just at the beginning of this wonderful year the most determined teachers who were not stopped by the closed roads due to the weather conditions, arrived at our school to have professional communication and learn to apply and use the wonderful resources offered by the British Council for everybody absolutely for free.
We started our day with some GTKY activities to learn something about each other as people and professionals. The next destination was to share the information about the Mapping On-line resources project that successfully started in      August       of      2014.
This time the main emphasis was given tohttp://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/en/ site and a number of tongue-twisters, videos, songs, games, crafts, tests, with supplied handouts, were introduced to the audience. The teachers did enjoy playing the games such as
http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/…/fun-…/wordshake - that practices the skills    of         making       the     words,
http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/…/fun-g…/bookworm - that resembles a very famous kids game from my childhood and develops both reaction, attention, and        vocab                  skills,
http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/…/christmas-words - that helps to remember the order of the words in a sentence,
http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/…/find…/christmas - to find the pairs,
http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/…/ball…/christmas - that is a great example of an activity for practicing the spelling of words in a fun and relaxed way,
and a large number of other activities that can be easily found onhttp://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/en/ site.
We drew the line of this first in a string of meetings with the certificates given to the participants of the workshop and with a strong desire to meet in spring (to    have  no     road         issues                   at      least))
